Restarting My Blog

Wow, it has been a very long time since I posted on my blog (Jun 2013 to be exact).  Many things have happened since my last post.  Mom passed in 2013 from lung cancer.  Dad and I traveled on lots of fun trips and made some great memories. Dad passed in 2019 from lung issues and heart failure.  I miss him very much and think of him every day. I have now retired (thanks dad) and decided that I would give this another attempt, since I now have time.

I have spent most of 2020 working from home (Covid driven) until 1 Oct, then went into retirement mode.  I have been sewing masks (approx 600) for my dads former living center most of this year.  I have just finished up with their Christmas masks, sew I have a few weeks to sew my own stuff.  Yeah for me.

Here is a project that I worked on during our family pumpkin carving night.  This is a project from Tweetle Dee Design Company. She did a video about using fabric instead of painting it and using Mod Podge glue.  I glued my own accessories to the top corner. This was a easy and fun project to do.  Abby designs quilts on wood and then they are painted.  Great idea if you have a spot on the front of your home to hang a wood quilt instead of a barn quilt.  Here is the link to her page tweetledeedesignco.com Check out her page.  She does do classes on her wood quilts and sells the wood and patterns for her creations.

I have updated my UFO list and hope to start working the most important ones first, ie: gifts that need to be given, projects that were promised and tops that need to be quilted.  My friend Kari and I bought a HQ Sixteen and it is set up in my basement.  I have no excuses now to not get some of my tops completed.  My 2021 goal to accomplish a few of them sew I can red line and end date them on the list.

This is Henry Winston. He is my buddy and assistant in sewing crime. He is now 11 and is such a good boy. He official duty is to sit on a finished quilting project to have his picture taken.  This is his sign of approval. He spends the day with me in the sewing room and does remind me when it is time for supper.  He has an internal clock that is usually within 15 minutes of his supper time. He is the best company worker.

Thanks for stopping by to read my blog. I wish you a very happy day!

Happy Sewing,

Tina

Well, I have finally started to decorate.  I am in love with everything that was done.  This is the new living room.

Here is my new bathroom.  I love my tile in the shower.  It turned out so pretty.

Here are a few of the quilts I have put up.  More to come and now I have reasons to finish the tops that are sitting on a shelf.

This is my new sewing room.  The ultimate place a sewing girl could wish for.  I am waiting to really decorate in here because I want it to be just right.

This was my sewing room before the remodel.

Now it is double to size and totally everything that I have needed and wanted.

The kitchen got a little mini make over.  New paint and new handles, just to get me through until I remodel it.  That is NOT going to happen for awhile.  Can you say burnout!!!!!

There is still a lot to do, but I am working on finishing the few boxes that are left and then to put the final decorations back up.  I am a very happy girl.  I hope you have enjoyed my little house tour.  I will post more as things get done.  Now I can get back to sewing.  I think I have sewn 4 times in the last 10 months.  That is so sad.  Guess I'll start Friday when my niece Taylor comes over to sew on her new sewing machine.

Until Next Time,
Tina

House Remodel Update Sew sorry I haven't updated lately. I have been very busy trying to get this house project done. I am down to touch up painting on the baseboards, door trims and painting the doors. Hopefully the crown molding will go up next week. The flat screen, surround sounds, and closet shelving systems are all that is left to be put in. I am very ready to move back into my house and start sewing. I am having serious withdrawels from not getting to sew. I hope to post more pictures when I have an extra minute. It is all turning out sew very beautiful. I am going to have my dream sewing room. Wait until you see how stinkin cute my curtains are going to be!!! Hint: think old and embroidery and crochet. Until next time, Tina

House Remodel Update!

Well, I am back into my normal swing of life after an awesome 2 weeks off during the Christmas holiday and New Year's break.  I am most certain that when retirement gets here I will not have to worry about being board.

I spent my time off getting walls painted and prepping for the floors to be refinished.  Here are a few before and after pictures of the wood floors.  The pictures do not do them justice.  They turned out sew beautiful.

Aren't they just amazing!  I am so in love with how they have turned out.  I just stand in the rooms and look at them.  I am smiling and sew looking forward to seeing how my woven wool rugs are going to look on them.

Didn't get any sewing done during my break, way too tired by the end of the day. I am hoping to get back into sewing as things are starting to get completed on the remodel. I sure do miss my creative time.

The weather here has gotten sew bitter cold. It is going to get down around -5 here tonight. Haven't seen those low temps in almost 9 years. Turned up the heat in the house to help keep the pipes from freezing.   My dryer went out this week I don't need the pipes to go also.

Thanks for stopping by and checking the update.

Until next time, Tina

Happy New Year 2013

Wishing you all a very safe and Happy New Year 2013!

The past year has been a good one and I am looking forward to an even better 2013.  I have lots of quilting ideas on paper and my hope it to actually create them this year.  Hoping to get my new sewing room completed by the end of Jan.  This has been a long journey getting to this point.

May all your desires become your reality in 2013.

Thanks for stopping by to read my blog.  This has been a fun new journey.  Way outside my computer comfort zone.  Still have a lot of changes that I hope to make on my blog in 2013.
